Itinerary

Day 1 - Monday 15th April

80km

As this is our day of arrival the ride will be shorter than the remaining days taking in some of the flatter, fast paced roads. After assembling your bike, we’ll meet outside the hotel reception where we’ll assign riders into 3 or 4 groups before rolling out on a 60km -80km social paced loop with a coffee stop (optional depending on time) to sample a traditional local desert, Xuixo (shoo-shoo).

The pace will be relaxed and you’ll have the opportunity to chat and get to know our team (they do ride with you). At the end of the ride there’s a chance to grab a well deserved beer (or soft drink) before we all meet up later for dinner.

After the meal we’ll discuss the following days rides and grab a refreshment or two before retiring back to the hotel.

Day 2- Tuesday 16th April

Optional Routes

On day 2 of the tour, we will be rolling by 10am with various routes available. The distance will vary from 70km-150km, depending on how you’re feeling! Once we leave the city, you will be on the beautiful open roads of Girona, a quiet and perfect escape for cycling.

Of course, you will have the opportunity to chat and get to know our team who ride alongside you. To finish the day, there’s a chance to bond over a well deserved beer (or soft drink!) before meeting up later for dinner.

Finally, we will finish the night discussing tomorrow’s rides alongside a refreshment or two, before heading back to the hotel!

Day 3- Wednesday 17th April

Optional Routes

On Wednesday we offer three route options, an intermediate, an advanced and a longer option. All routes take in the rolling terrain with the longer route climbing more and riding further.

Riders will then make their way back to the hotel for a well-earned drink in the bar before getting ready for a delicious meal in a local restaurant. After this we’ll reconvene in the bar where you can relive the day’s events with your fellow riders before retiring to your room to prepare for day 4.

Day 4- Thursday 18th April

Optional Routes

On Thursday we offer three route options, an intermediate, an advanced and a longer option. All routes take in the rolling terrain with the longer route climbing more and riding further.

Riders will then make their way back to the hotel for a well-earned drink in the bar before getting ready for a delicious meal in a local restaurant. After this we’ll reconvene in the bar for a final few drinks where you can relive the week’s riding and hopefully begin to plan your next trip with Ascend Cycling Tours.

Day 5- Friday 19th April

Your Ascend Trip has come to an end…but be sure to share your amazing memories with your new friends on the return flight back to Manchester (pick up at 8am).

The Cycling

Rider abilities vary and you consider carefully if this ride is for you. In the UK the weather can be changeable and we will adapt the rides if necessary to suit the conditions on the day.

The rides will be on rolling roads with some testing climbs but we do offer alternative routes that avoid the steepest climbs if needed.
